On Sunday, 15-year-old girl, Elizabeth Olanrewaju, narrated how her neighbour allegedly broke her virginity in Ogun State.
Elizabeth, her two siblings and mother occupy a room apartment in Arabiyi street, Egunjobi area of Itele in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Ogun State.
According to the minor, the neighbour one Mr. Abidini Adewumi Lawal allegedly carried out the offensive act on Saturday, June 6 while the mother was in Badagry.
A Media source reported that Abidini lives in the opposite building of the Olanrewajus but travels occasionally to Port Harcourt where he earns a living.
Elizabeth was said to be asleep with siblings of she’s 10 and eight respectively when the incident happened.
Narrating her ordeal, Elizabeth said her mother a missionary left home on Thursday, June 4 and Abidini also returned from Port Harcourt two days later to perpetrate the act.
The victim said on arrival, Abidini gave some snacks to the Olanrewajus to get their attention.
“At about 4pm, he was seen weeding his surrounding after which he trickly inquired of our mother was around and I told him she was not around. At about 8pm, we were gisting in the room when somebody knocked at our window but we didn’t respond.
At about 11pm, we were all asleep when I noticed that a figure had broken into the room and I got up out of fear to find out what was happening but the figure turned out to be the landlord of the opposite building,”
The victim said she was without underwears but wore a short gown at that time. She said
“immediately, he grabbed my neck and prevented me from shouting as I struggled with him but he overpowered me and had canal knowledge of me. This left me very weak with pains all over me as I laid helplessly on the floor while the landlord escaped the scene.
I reached out to my phone to relate the incident to my mother but my phone battery had ran out and I didn’t know what to do next.
At daybreak, I called my mother and also informed our neighbours but the landlord immediately travelled out of the vicinity before other neighbours could reach him,”
Elizabeth was later taken to the hospital for medical attention and the matter was reported to a nearby Division.
The suspect has two wives but only one of them and her five children live within Itele while he works in Port Harcourt.
However, Abidini debunked the allegation in a telephone conversation with Vanguard saying he would be in Itele on July 7 to exonerate himself. “The allegation is false because the girl in question is like my biological daughter and I have explained myself to the mother. How could I have slept with her? This is the handiwork of mischief-maker,”
Elizabeth mother Comrade Olanrewaju Adenike said she is a double parent who built the said apartment over a decade ago and travelled to Badagry for missionary work when her daughter broke the news to her on phone.
